Organisation for the 2012 10km and 4km run has begun in earnest!
The date for this years run is Sunday 29th April 2012.
The start time will be slightly earlier - 10.30 am for the 10km runners and 10.40 am for the 4km runners.
Links to the application forms are now on the site.
We are fortunate this year to be holding the run at the same time as the Underwood, Bagthorpe and Brinsley Scarecrow Festival. Why not make it a family day out and have a walk after the run to see the fantastic scarecrows that have been produced by the villagers. There is a competition too! Food will be available to purchase at St Michael's Church in Underwood.
Well what a glorious day we had for our 25th Underwood Run.
Mr Roger Hull (ex-headteacher of Underwood Primary school) started our 4km Fun Run. This was particularly special as he was the founding organiser of the run 25 years ago!
We were also honoured to have Councillor Gail Turner start our 10km race this year - she did a great job!
There was a fantastic turnout - particularly for the 4km Fun Run which had 138 runners! The atmosphere was amazing and we really had a great day.
Congratulations go to all of our runners who really could have done with the weather being a little cooler! Huge thanks to everyone who helped out - we couldn't have done it without you!
Looking forward to seeing you next year! The run will be around the same time - we will set the official date in the Autumn when we know the dates of other big races held in April.
Thanks again and please, if you have feedback, please let us know! Review our run on the Runners' World website, leave your comments in our Guest Book on this site or leave us some feedback on our Facebook site.
7th April 2011
Almost race day! For anybody coming by car on the day, please remember that there will be no parking along Main Road due to road closure.
All numbers are available to pick up on the day. Leave yourself enough time to do this! Run number pick up closes at 10.45 am.
If you are planning on entering on the day please remember that late entry closes at 10.30am to give the timekeepers enough time to register and add runners to the database before the beginning of the race.
We will not be publishing race results other than category winners during the run. Results will be published online later on in the day.
Finally - see you Sunday - the weather forecast is looking good!
4th April 2011
Not long to go now!
We are in the news! The Eastwood Advertiser will have a small article on the run on page 5 this week! Check it out if you have the chance. East Midlands Today are also hoping to send a team to cover the run on Sunday - make sure you look your best!
If you haven't already got your application there is still time to save money! Remember it is more expensive to register on the day due to the difficulties of transferring information to our database when registering runners.
Please, if you are intending to run (and the long range forecast is perfect for runners!), please take the time to apply early. It really does help the organisers.
Looking forward to a good turnout, some PB times and a jolly good BBQ!

Less than four weeks to go! Get those applications forms in! For those people who are wanting to raise money through Just Giving please be aware that we have had some problems with setting up our pages there this year due to bank changes. This will be sorted shortly.
Our new logo to celebrate the 25th year of the Underwood Run was designed by Lois from Underwood Primary School. The school council felt it really captured the mood of the day and we agree! Well done Lois.

Due to the 'volcanic ash cloud' we were a few key people down today - this did cause us some problems, so thank you to everyone who gave extra time to support us at very short notice.
Thanks to everyone who turned up - there was a fantastic atmosphere and we raised a lot of money for our charities. Final figures will be available in a few weeks once all the sponsorship money is in.
Full results will be published as soon as possible. We are having some problems uploading onto the website. Please be patient and they will be posted as soon as possible.
Next year the races will be started with a klaxon - we have no idea what happened to ours!
27 March 2010 Underwood School has now closed for the Easter Break so please note that any entries recieved during the School holidays will not be processed until School reopens on 12 April 2010. 21st March 2010 Only a few weeks to go and we are gearing up for a fabulous day. Please make sure you have downloaded your application form and applied for a run number as early as possible. It will cost considerably more per person to run if you enter on the day.

Thank you to Sam Hynd (Para Olympic gold medallist) who attended on the day and gave the prize winners their trophies.
Please visit the Pixpro website http://www.pixpro.co.uk to look at and order your photos. The three photographers who were there have taken some great shots of the runners in the 10km, Fun Run and the Field race. Their website is well worth a visit!
